Meet The Team

Jason Alicea, LMHC, LCMHC

Virtual therapy available in New York, North Carolina, and Florida.

I describe Jason as the type of therapist who ‘gets it.’ I never felt embarrassed to tell him anything or like I had to hold back. He always responds with positivity and support, even when it’s a moment of learning or growth. Put most simply, he’s a cool therapist.
— Privately disclosed
Virtual therapy helping ambitious professionals overcome perfectionism, emotional exhaustion, and work-related stress.

I created Rising Tide Therapy because I wanted therapy to actually help people move forward, not keep them stuck endlessly talking about the same problems for years. Over the years, I intentionally studied a wide range of therapy modalities and approaches with one goal in mind: building a toolkit full of real strategies, interventions, and practical tools that could be personalized to each client instead of forcing everyone into the same one size fits all approach.

That approach has helped clients create meaningful, lasting changes in their relationships, stress, confidence, emotional health, and everyday life, which honestly has been one of the greatest honors of my career.

At the end of the day, I want this practice to be known for one thing: therapy that creates independence, not reliance.

Carolyn Cutillo, LMHC

Virtual therapy available in New York.

Carolyn is a friendly therapist who really cares about her clients. She’s also great with CBT work!
— Former LMHC Supervisor
Mental health counseling for professionals seeking healthier relationships, emotional balance, and lasting personal growth.

I know firsthand that being a high-achiever, or an artist who’s always hustling, often comes with a hidden tax: a noisy mind, a tense body, and the constant question of "What is all this grinding actually for?"

My path to becoming a therapist wasn't a straight line; it was shaped by my background in performance, positive psychology, and higher education. This means I don't just sit back and nod, I understand the unique pressure of trying to excel while feeling like you're secretly drowning.

As a person, I’m practical, collaborative, and firmly believe that therapy should be a liberating chapter in your life, not a permanent fixture. As a clinician, I back up that warmth with evidence-based expertise in CBT and EMDR. I blend the science of neurobiology and behavior change with a deep respect for human creativity

I’m here to help you unpack the perfectionism, process the stuck points, and reconnect with a version of yourself that feels authentic, lighter, and genuinely happy.
